On 12 February 2025 museum of Literature and art hosted a solemn opening of art exhibition «Еңбекпен өрілген өнер» («Art woven with labor») by students of «Clothes design» and «Interior design» specialties of High college of culture named after Akan Sere. The exhibition is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of this educational institution and the Year of working professions.
As we all know, President Kasym-Zhomart Tokaev declared this year the «Year of Working Professions». The President said in his speech: «Promoting working professions, we promote the concept of hard working and true professionals to the society». Qualities like hard work and professionalism should be highly valued in our society. «Specialists who know their craft increase the quality of nation», — he emphasised. So, our duty is to celebrate «The Year of Working Professions» in o high level. The event which was hosted by the museum is one of the examples of this. Nurbek Zhamashuly, the director of museum of Literature and art, and Sayan Mukhamediyarov, the director of High college of culture «Akan Sere», had their welcome speeches and thanked organisators and wished talented students creative success. As he said, this kind of events will inspire young generation and will open the way for them to actively engage in their favorite activities. Continuing the speech, Ulbolsyn Sagyndykyzy, Head of the Design Department, noted that this profession has existed for 22 years and today’s exhibition is a reflection of art that has existed since then. Ulbolsyn Akhmetova, member of the Artists Unite of Kazakhstan, also delivered a congratulatory speech and noted that these talented students will make future artists.
During the event songs of Akan Sere and a potpourri of Kazakh kyuis were performed by talented college students. The performance livened up the evening and deserved viewers’ applause. It is worth noting that there is 70th anniversary of the High college of culture named after Akan Sere this year. The college still provides a worthy education to future artists and teaches working professions.
