On the 26 February 2026 museum of Literature and art hosted an event «Бірлік пен алғыс жолы» («The path of unity and gratitude») dedicated to the celebration of the Day of Gratitude. The event united representants of different ethnic groups with the atmosphere of respect, spiritual dialogue and mutual gratitude.

The Day of Gratitude is celebrated on the 1 May in Kazakhstan. The holiday was established in 2016 and dedicated to the day of creation of Assembly of People of Kazakhstan. The date symbolizes unity of people of Kazakhstan, inter-ethnic harmony and gratitude to Kazakh people for being hospitable and supportive during difficult historical periods of deportations and migrations of various ethnical groups.

As part of the event there were presentations by guest speakers.

Foreign students from Pakistan, representants of Pashtuns – Khan Taimoor and Rakhman Zaid – spoke about traditions, spiritual values and cultural features of their nation. They paid particular attention on family values, code of honor and role of religion in social life. They also expressed sincere gratitude to Kazakh people for their hospitality and opportunity to study in Kazakhstan.

Head of The Vainakh Chechen-Ingush ethnocultural association Gerikhan Yandiev emphasized the importance of preserving historical memories, language and national traditions. In his presentation he noted the significance of support that Kazakh people provided to Chechens and Ingush during the period of deportations, and expressed deep gratitude for their acts of kindness.

Head the Korean ethnocultural association Zhanna Sin spoke about Korean cultural legacy, traditions of respecting elders, hard working and spiritual continuity of generations. In her presentation she also expressed gratitude to Kazakh people for solidarity and support in challenging times.

The event «Бірлік пен алғыс жолы» («The path of unity and gratitude») has become a basis for strengthening inter-ethnic harmony, mutual understanding and friendship. The holiday served as a reminder once again that respecting cultural variety and mutual spiritual values serve as a strong foundation for unity and stability of Kazakhstan.
