On 22 January 2026 museum of Literature and art hosted a literary night called « Сайын дала Сайыны» («Sain of the endless steppe») dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth Sain Muratbekov, writer and playwright.

   For those young writers who came into Kazakh literature of 50-s and 60-s of XX century, Sain Muratbekov, remembered by readers for his vivid and lively works such as «Менің қарындасым» («My little sister»), «Жусан иісі» («The smell of wormwood») and «Жабайы алма» («Wild apple-tree»), became a true master of short story genre. His characters were often discussed among readers and in literary societies.

   On the literary night, which was handled in the museum of Literature and art, Sabit Zhambek, literary scholar and candidate of philological sciences, discussed the features of Sain Muratbekov’s artworks and shared his thoughts about his unique writing style. He answered the audience’s questions in details and encouraged students to get along with books.
